The National Tennis Federation of Moldova and the football club “Petrocub” (Hîncești) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing sports and supporting projects dedicated to tennis in the country.
The document was signed by the president of the National Tennis Federation of Moldova, Czeslaw Ciuhrii, and the president of the “Petrocub” club, Mihai Usatîi. The partnership will serve as the foundation for implementing joint initiatives, the first of which will be the organization of the national tournament Petrocub Tennis Cup 2026.
The idea of cooperation stems from the desire to show that “Petrocub” is not only a football club but also a brand that supports the development of sports in the Republic of Moldova as a whole, especially projects dedicated to children and youth. In this context, tennis becomes a natural addition to the sports ecosystem and an important tool for promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The first tournament of the Petrocub Tennis Cup series will take place from March 23 to 29 on the courts of the National Tennis Center, bringing together players of various age categories—from U12 to adult athletes. Participants can expect intense matches, strong opponents, and cash prizes for the top players.
The organizers hope that the tournament will become an important event in the national competition calendar and another step in the development of the tennis community in the Republic of Moldova.
Registration for the tournament is already open and will last until March 18, 10:00.
Participation is open to players holding a valid license from the National Tennis Federation of Moldova.
